Andrea Downing is the co-founder of a nonprofit called The Light Collective. She is a security researcher, BRCActivist, and advocate for people who carry hereditary cancer mutations. Through her work at The Light Collective, Andrea is working towards responsible data stewardship driven by patient communities and peer support groups. Andrea began her work in patient advocacy in 2013, as media spokesperson for one of the plaintiffs in Association of Molecular Pathology vs. Myriad Genetics. She previously served on the organizing team at Stanford Medicine X.
