Matthew Blank, Ph.D.

Senior Research Assistant


Matt Blank, PhD, is a Senior Research Assistant at Baylor College of Medicine’s Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy. His doctoral work focused on pathogenic gene variants in the single-cell eukaryotic parasite, Toxoplasma gondii, and the implications of gene variation on the parasite’s interaction with the human host. He is passionate about clear and honest communication of scientific research to the general public. His prior work in project management and interest in the intersection of science and the public led him to working on The Sulston Project at BCM. Matt also serves as an Assistant Professor of Biology at HBU and loves teaching undergraduate students.
