Julie Eggington, MS, PHD

CEO and Co-Founder


Dr. Eggington co-founded the Center for Genomic Interpretation in 2017 as an independent nonprofit organization with the mission is to drive quality in clinical genetics, genomics and Precision Medicine. Dr. Eggington serves as the Center's CEO. She has been instrumental in the development of ELEVATEGenetics, a laboratory quality metrics program that Engages Laboratories, Encourages Validity, and Appraises Test Efficacy (E.L.E.V.A.T.E.). ELEVATEGenetics is used by health insurers to help identify the highest quality and most accurate genetic tests for their members, with emphasis on stringent variant classification. These genetic/genomic tests range from single marker genetic tests up to whole genome profiling tests with interpretation driven by artificial intelligence. Prior to co-founding the Center for Genomic Interpretation, Dr. Eggington was a co-founder and managing partner at GeneInt, LLC, a consulting company for genetics labs. She has directed clinical genetic interpretation programs at Myriad Genetics, Courtagen Life Sciences, & 23andMe. Dr. Eggington received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her M.S. from the University of Utah, and her B.S. with Honors from Brigham Young University.
